Library 2.0

I found reading about the expansive future of the internet to be exhilarating. There is so much possibility. I just hope that using the new tools, we can change things faster than has been the case in the past. We will no longer be mired down by waiting on changes to be implemented. We musn't however forget that we may be far more advanced than some of our population, and we need to bring them along. We can have fun designing for the future. Can you imagine no wait, big screens that can interact with the customers and show them the path they need to take in their searching? Can't wait!

Tagging is Delicious

I went to Delicious and signed up for an account. First I added my bookmarks, then I added some new sights and tagged them. It was easy and I can definitely see how this can be a great site. It lets us all be organized and adventurous. I really liked this excercise.

Twit

Not sure I will be using Twitter. Not sure I want to know what everyone is doing by the minute. It is an interesting phenomenon, however, and I need to think about it more. I think I will go read a book instead.

GOOD READS

Instead of using Library Thing, I am using my account already established at Good Reads. I have 25 books posted (5 new ones for this exercise). I have several friends, on whose books I have commented. It is really a great site, with very interactive capabilities.

Warholized Photo of a building.

I used a generator to Warholize this building. This stunning multi-purpose hall was designed by Brisac Gonzalez Architects and built in 2004 2007 in Aurillac, France.

Picking RSS Feeds

To tell you the truth, in choosing feeds to subscribe to, I pulled my favorite sites first. I usually check out New York Times and Salon on a daily basis, but I thought it would be nice to choose the movie feed from the Times and my favorite writer, Thomas L. Friedman. So, that was a good thing. Then I started exploring a bit and found that using the index from Bloglines, I could find interesting things I never thought about. And Voila, I found Smashing Magazine which turned out to be of interest not only to me, but my editor daughter and graphic artist son! That was a surprise, and I hope to find even more.
